"We at Trinity Center understand Alzheimer's and memory loss, because that is our focus. Trinity Center has met strict requirements to become licensed by the State of Iowa for Chronic Confusion or Dementing Illness (CCDI) care."

Living with Alzheimer's Disease (AD) or a similar memory disorder can be a challenge for individuals and their families. That’s why Trinity Center at Luther Park is dedicated to helping enrich the lives of individuals with memory loss.  Found in a park-like setting, Trinity Center’s 120-bed facility offers customizable levels of activity-based care for residents experiencing the effects of this debilitating condition.

A Caring Community
What makes Trinity Center so special and different from other, similar facilities, is our staff. Each staff member is screened to ensure they are appropriate for employment at Trinity Center. Additionally, all staff members receive special training, which further qualifies them to work with residents experiencing memory loss.

Our priority is to maintain each resident’s highest level of functioning. With that in mind, our goal is to maintain every resident's dignity and self respect. To achieve this goal, all Trinity staff members follow the Alzheimer's Ten Commandments for exceptional care:

  1. Adapt to the resident’s behavior;
  2. Enter the resident’s reality (rather than attempting to pull them into theirs);
  3. Realize that what may work for one may not work for all
  4. Realize that all techniques are fallible, and flexibility is essential;
  5. Realize that the importance of normalization is important to give the resident a sense of self reliance;
  6. Realize that to be successful, we must adapt to each task, no matter how much care a resident needs;
  7. Appreciate and celebrate the care process — regardless of the outcome;
  8. "Do whatever it takes" when previous techniques have not been effective;
  9. Educate the family, knowing they are an equal partner in the care giving process;
  10. Through their care, the staff holds the key to the success of each resident’s journey through this disease.

The Trinity Center’s Commitment to Quality
We at Trinity Center are trained in Alzheimer's care and memory loss, because that is our focus. Trinity Center has met strict requirements to become licensed by the State of Iowa for Chronic Confusion or Dementing Illness (CCDI) care, which means each resident is provided with the best care, with only the highest standards, and we’re honored to be able to offer that level of care to you or your loved one while you’re experiencing the effects of memory loss.
