Denny Garland, Executive Director
Mr. Garland grew up in Marshalltown, Iowa. He moved to the Des Moines area in July of 1988. He attended Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa where he received a B.S in Business. After which he completed his Masters in Gerontology and Counseling from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Denny has formerly acted as the Executive Director of Meadowlark Retirement Community in Manhattan, Kansas. He enjoys reading, fishing, canoeing; and his four children and three grandchildren. |

Candy A. Plew, Administrator for Trinity Center
Mrs. Plew was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa. She has worked at Luther Park for 25 years and has a degree in Healthcare Administration. Before Luther Park, she worked for 16 years in the accounting department at Des Moines General Hospital. Candy has 3 girls and 6 grandchildren. Some of her interests include reading, church activities, traveling and her family. |

Susan Garland, Administrator of Luther Park Apartments & Rose Glen Apartments
Mrs. Garland grew up in both Pella and Grinnell, Iowa. She moved to the Des Moines area in 1988. She has worked at Luther Park for 14 years. Her previous experience includes a Master’s degree from Kansas State University and a banking background. Sue enjoys cooking, reading, games and her 4 children and 3 grandchildren whom she sees as often as possible. |

Phillis Seals, Administrator for The Gardens & The Lindens
Mrs. Seals is from Sioux City, Iowa. She has been with Luther Park for 22 years. Her past educational experience includes DMACC, CE Solutions management courses, and Iowa Assisted Living Association. She formerly worked at Iowa Health, Des Moines. Phillis has one son and her hobbies include cooking and reading. |

Sonny Lande, Property Manager
Although Mr. Lande was born in Bischofshoven, Austria he came to the area from Ames, IA. He has worked at Luther Park for 30 years. His previous background includes 5 years as maintenance assistant at Iowa State University and 12 years as a heating and cooling installer. Sonny has 3 children and 2 grandchildren and enjoys golf, biking, walking his dog, and travelling. |

Nick Miller, Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Miller grew up in a small town in Iowa County called North English. He moved to the Des Moines area from Cedar Falls in 1990. He has a BA in Organization Management and a BA in Accounting from the University of Northern Iowa. Nick’s past experience includes 7 years in public accounting and 20 years in the private industry. In his family are 2 sons, 1 step son, 3 step daughters, and 9 grandchildren. He enjoys gardening, reading, history, nature, and remodeling and renovations of his home. |

Marcus Engelhardt, Chaplain
Mr. Engelhardt was born in Rock Rapids, Iowa; grew up there and in Preston. He moved to the greater Des Moines area in January of 1993. He has been with Luther Park for 18 years. He has a BA from Texas Lutheran University, Wartburg Theology Seminary Mdiv., CPE St.Luke’s Hopstial in Cedar Rapids, CPE MHI Independence, and he is a board certified chaplain. His prior experience includes Parish Pastor at Trinity Lutheran Churches of Ottosen and Rutland, Iowa and Chaplain at Clarinda Treatment Complex. He enjoys reading, history, bicycle riding and his 3 grown children. |

Ray Main, Government and External Relations
Mr. Main is from Des Moines, Iowa. He studied at the University of Iowa and has been in service at Luther Park since 1993 both on the Board of Directors and as an employee. He has served on the following boards and committees: Children and Families of Iowa, Urbandale Community Action Network, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, Council Faith Lutheran, Association of Health Underwriters, and most recently the Des Moines Global Network on Age Friendly Cities Advisory Committee. Ray has been married to Mary Ann for 40 years. He enjoys his 2 children and 2 granddaughters, travel, reading, landscaping, and motorcycles. |

Jodi Urich, Director of Development
Ms. Urich was born and raised in the Des Moines area. Her previous experience includes: regional and national art broker, designer of food product labels, art gallery owner, and grant writer. A longtime supporter of community betterment and fundraising activities, Jodi has been involved in PEO, T.T.T., NARA, and The Des Moines Better Business Bureau. She also served five years as chairperson on the Polk County Conservation Board in which she oversaw budgeting, policy setting, fundraising and promotion of the County's parks system. As community communication coordinator, her work included grant writing and promoting awareness of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Jodi has a grown son and enjoys traveling, reading, spending time with friends and family. |

Angie Mesenbrink, Director of Community Relations
Mrs. Mesenbrink is from the Okoboji, Iowa area. She moved to the Des Moines area 14 years ago. Her education includes previous CNA training and certification and a Bachelor’s Degree from Drake University in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Angie has experience as a former property manager, director of special events, project coordinator, and in administration. She has two children and enjoys jogging, gardening, cooking and spending time with family. |
